The GFA Normalisation Committee have ordered the Referee Association of Ghana (RAG) to ban three referees, Ali Alhassan, Mustapha Abdulai and Mohammed Isahaku temporarily from handling any major game until further notice.
This happened following the news that has been trending in the various newspaper in Ghana. The said referees handed match week 12 fixture of the ongoing Normalisation Committee special cup game between Ashantigold and Kotoko in Obuasi.
According to reports, centre referee of the said game, Ali Alhassan and the other officials met a Kotoko fan who goes by name Shishila. They met and took a supposed amount of GH8,000 from him in a way to influence the game to favour Asante Kotoko.
They handled the game very well with fairness and at the end it was the Miners that emerged victorious. Shishila quickly called and demanded his money back since the referees failed to help Kotoko win.
With this, the Normalisation Committee have then issued a temporal ban on the said referees for now. They will now remain sidelined without handling any game in the competition until the investigations and everything is done.
