Wendy Shay apologises to former President John Agyekum Kufuor and fans

Afropop and Afrobeat singer, Wendy Addo, known by the mononym Wendy Shay, has rendered an unqualified apology to former President John Agyekum Kufuor and Ghanaians after she posted a photo she took with the former president on social media which subjected him to public ridicule.

The Ruftown records signed musician paid a courtesy call on the former president at his residence and later posted a picture with the former president with the caption “Finally met H.E. Ex president Kuffour” #wendyshaytotheworld #rufftown #ShayGang”.

Social media users expressed disappointment in her choice of outfit which they think was revealing to meet a high-profile personality like Ex President Kufuor after the picture had gone viral.

She took to her instagram handle and implored the general public to forgive her for the unintended impression caused.

In an apology to the former president, she said: “On the 4th of July 2019, I posted an image of myself and His Excellency former President John Agyekum Kufuor on my social media timeline. This was after I visited him with my fellow Youth Employment Agency Ambassadors officially.

“The image I posted went viral on social media for the wrong reasons and I will wish to render an unqualified apology to His Excellency and the board and management of the Youth Employment Agency. I had no intention of bringing his good image into any public disrepute.

I would wish to apologise to the general public as well with most of the comments being directed to my outfit.

I am a young lady and I am still learning. To err is human, to forgive is divine.

I promise to do better next time. Once again, I am sorry.”
