Asante Kotoko S.C midfielder Kwame Bonsu affectionately known as “Conte”, has completed his move to Tunisian giant Esperance Sportive de Tunis on a four year deal. Asante Kotoko is likely to raise $150,000 from this transfer deal.
Kwame Bonsu and his management headed by Yussif Chibsah left the shores of Ghana on Tuesday to finalise everything with the back to back African champions.
The deal was announced immediately after Bonsu passed his medicals and he is set to be unveiled on Thursday.
The 24 year old playmaker, once played in the Ghana top flight with Kpando Heart of Lions in 2012 but extended his journey to Sweden at a very tender age. He played several clubs in the Allsvenkan which includes FC Rosengard, Mjallby AIF before later joining Gefle IF.
In the later part of his career, Kwame Bonsu had some problems in Sweden which made his then club terminated his contract. He came back to rebrand his career where he joined Asante Kotoko S.C.
He was sensational for the Porcupine Warriors in their last Confederations Cup compaign after making it into the group stage for the first time in many years. Again, he was part of the Kotoko team that won the just ended Normalisation Committee tier I Special Competition.
This earned him his first call up into the senior national team, Black Stars where he made his debut against Mauritania in a friendly of which Ghana won 3-1. Today, he has joined African champions Esperance Sportive de Tunis.
