Asante Kotoko S.C confirmed this afternoon on their official social media handles that, their stay with goalkeeper Muntari Tagoe comes to an end by mutual consent.
The former Medeama S.C shotstopper joined the Porcupine Warriors a year ago as a free agent to compete with the club’s first choice Felix Annan but looks like he couldn’t provide that competition Kotoko needed.
Before joining the Baba Yara based outfit, Muntari Tagoe 27, has had so much experience in the Ghana premier league captaining Tarkwa base Medeama S.C.
He also has vast experience in Africa playing in an instrumental role in Medeama S.C squad that made it into the Group Stages of the CAF Confederations Cup in 2016 and also having some time with Zambian side Lusaka Dynamos. After a short stay in Lusaka with the Elites, he terminated his contract.
Coming with all this experience and exposure, many thought he was coming for the first choice spot but his output couldn’t impress the Kotoka Technical team so they had no option than to release him.
With this, and since the club wants to continue with their rebuilding process, they had to end their stay with goalkeeper Muntari Tagoe who is also reported to have been speaking with some clubs in the Ghana’s top flight. The 27 year old goalie will be announcing his next destination in few days to come.
