After finishing as runners up in the just ended WAFU Nation’s Cup, three Ghanaians have been named in the tournament’s best XI. Such players include Ashantigold marksman Shafiu Mumuni and Heats of Oak duo, Fataw Mohammed and Joseph Esso.
Following a tremendous performance exhibited in the just ended WAFU tournament, Hearts of Oak skipper Fataw Mohammed was chosen among the best four defenders in the competition.
Another Hearts of Oak forward, Joseph Esso got his name included in the best five midfielders selected at the end of the tournament. The former Ebusua Dwarfs striker scored two goals in the competition, against Gambia in the first round and that brilliant equaliser in the final against Senegal in the extra time. This ensured he was added to the team of the tournament.
Black Stars B skipper, Shafiu Mumuni continued with his fine form in the tourney having scored four goals including a superb hatrick against Ivory Coast in the semi final. He finished as the top scorer with four goals no wonder he was selected as the only striker to lead the attack for the tournament’s best XI in a 5-4-1 information.
