Jeffrey Schlupp second half strike propelled the Eagles to a narrow victory over AFC Bournemouth at the Selhurst Park. This is the first time the Ghanaian is scoring two consecutive goals in the Premier league after scoring against Burnley over the weekend.
Despite losing two of their back line in the first half due to red card and injury, the Eagles still continued with their fine form after recording a second consecutive win in a row.
The game was a very tight one with high intensity as both teams were eyeing nothing but a win to climb up the premier league log. As early as 19 minutes from kickoff, Mamadou Sakho got red carded after a harsh challenge on Adam Smith.
Also, the Eagles lost another defender; Patrick Van Aanholt on the 30th minute due to injury which forced manager Roy Hodgson to introduce Jeffrey Schlupp into the game who came to turn things around.
Another Ghanaian in Jordan Ayew was also sensational though he couldn’t register his name on the score sheet. He also lasted the entire duration of the game for the Red and Blues.
The Eagles have now climbed up to the 5th position on the league table with 21 points. They are now only a place away to make it into the top four which could only be assured based on outcome of the other games coming up tonight.
