Undoubtedly one of the best football derbies hits ground tonight as Inter Milan will be hosting their city rivals A.C Milan at the Estadio Giuseppe Meazza (San Siro) in matchweek 23 of the Italian Serie A.
Romelu Lukaku’s double propelled Inter Milan to an emphatic victory over Udinese at the Estadio Friuli in their last Serie A game after their neighbours AC Milan had already drawn with Hellas Verona in the same round.
Juventus losing yesterday at the Estadio Marcantonio Bentegodi means Inter Milan will be going top of the Serie A log if they win tonight with goal difference.
A.C Milan however look very determined to return to winning ways after drawing their last league fixture and will also want to reduce the huge points gap (19) between them and their city rivals.
Both teams remain unbeaten since the beginning of the new year having gone unbeaten in their last seven games in all competitions. The Nerazurries have four wins and three draws whereas the Rosenerries also have five wins and two draws.
Inter Milan have been dominant in the Derby della Madonnina narrowing it down to their last five games with three wins, a win for the Rosenerries and a draw.
Coach Anthonio Conte is sweating over the recovery of his first choice goalie Samir Handanovic and Stefano Sensi who are still doubtful for the game. Meanwhile, Borja Valero and Roberto Gagliardini are out for tonight.
On the other hand, Manager Stefano Pioli has been boosted massively with the return of Zlatan Ibrahimovic and the availability of Simon Kjaer, Rade Krunic, Ismael Bennacer, Lucas Biglia who were somehow doubtful prior to this encounter. Andrea Conti won’t be seen in action tonight due to injury.
