GHPL Matchweek 9 results; Kotoko survived in Dawu, Hearts earned a point in Dormaa and more.

*Inter Allies 1-1 Legon Cities FC

The Capelli boys after a resounding victory in the midweek were anticipating to pick consecutive wins but got halted by Legon Cities yesterday at the Ohene Gyan Stadium. Victorien Adebayor converted from the spot to put Allies in front in the first half and also increased his goal tally to eight on the top scoring chat. Abdul Karim Jabila equalised lately in the second half also from a penalty kick to split the points.

*King Faisel FC 1-1 WAFA

Late penalty scored by Mustapha Mohammed cancelled out Abukari Ibrahim’s first half goal as the game to finished in a draw. The “Insha Allah” boys still remain winless after nine games in the league.

The Porcupine Warriors relied on an own goal netted by Abdul Bashiru on the 68th minute to grind all three points from the Theatre of Dreams yesterday. The Still Believe lads despite beating Liberty in the midweek have now lost their last two home games in the league against the two biggest clubs in the country sending them out of the top six with Kotoko returning into the top four.

*Aduana Stars 0-0 Hearts of Oak.

At the Nana Agyemang Badu II Park, The “Ogya” boys got held heavily to a goalless drawn game in an encounter many believed the Phobians should have won. The record continue to stand as Hearts of Oak still remain winless in Dormaa since 2015.

*Ashanti Gold SC 1-0 Liberty Professionals

High flying Liberty Professionals records second consecutive defeats after narrowly losing to Ashgold by 1-0 thanks to Appiah McCarthy’s penalty just on the stroke of half time. Coach David Ocloo and his charges really dominated the second half creating series of chances but all their efforts yielded no results in the end.

*Elmina Sharks 3-1 Berekum Chelsea

The Sharks recovered from their loss in the midweek as they thumped on league leaders Berekum Chelsea by 3-1 yesterday at the Ndoum Sports Stadium. A five star performance from Benjamin Boateng saw him netting a hatrick and also went on to claim the man of the match award. Kofi Owusu gets his third goal of the campaign after getting the consolation for the Blues. The defeat today has taken them out of the top 4 as they are now placing fifth on the table.

*Bechem United 0-0 Ebusua Dwarfs

Young sensation, Prince Adu Kwabena couldn’t stole the show at the Nana Fosu Gyeabour Park this time around as Bechem United shared the points with the Crabs in match week nine yesterday. Dwarfs are now unbeaten in their last two games in the league whiles the Hunters for the first in 20 games have failed to produce a goal at home.

*Karela United 1-1 Medeama SC

Another drawn game produced at the Akoon Park as the Tarkwa derby ended 1-1. Diawusie Taylor had his first half goal cancelled out by former New Edubiase forward Prince Opoku Agyemang who has now netted six goals in the league. Despite the draw, the Mauves and Yellows have overtaken climbed up to clinch the second place on the league log after match week nine.

*Great Olympics 1-2 Eleven Wonders

Goals from Sule Musah and Ibrahim Salifu propelled the Techiman base side to run out with all three points fromu the Ohene Gyan Stadium as they humbled Great Olympics by 1-2. Gladson Awako on the score sheet again as he secured consolation for the “Ole” charges.
