Former Inter Allies defender and skipper, Joseph Aidoo has joined Spanish La Liga side Celta Vigo on a five year deal after successfully completing his medicals on Thursday.
Joseph Aidoo after Ghana’s exit in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations last Monday against Tunisia on penalties flew straight to Spain to complete his move.
Joseph Aidoo had a sensational spell in the Jupilar League in Belgium for Genk. He guided them to win the Belgian League in the just ended season which gives them automatic spot to the UEFA Champions League in the upcoming season.
He played over 30 games for the Belgian Champions. He played alongside country man, Joseph Paintsil.
The dependable defender was part of the Black Stars squad that just got eliminated in the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations of which he made only one appearance in the tournament. He paired John Boye in the heart of defence when the Black Stars took on Guinea-Bissau in the final group game of which they won 2-0.
The former Inter Allies defender made his debut for the Black Stars against Mauritania in March this year at the Ohene Gyan Stadium. He was also part of the Black Satellite team in 2015 who got eliminated by Mali in the quarter finals of the U20 world cup.
