Dissolve the Normalisation Committee, sack and prosecute Hon. Isaac Asiamah – Joseph Yamin

Former Deputy Minister for Youth, Sports and Culture, Joseph Yamin has lambasted the current minister of the sector, Hon. Isaac Asiamah following Ghana’s disappointing campaign in the AFCON 2019. He also stated the Normalisation Committee of the Ghana Football Association should be dissolved as as soon as possible. He said this in an interview with Kumasi based Light FM.

Joseph Yamin has tagged Isaac Asiamah who is currently the Sports Minister as the worst ever in that category after failing to make the AFCON budget public to Ghanaians. He also added by saying Hon. Isaac Asiamah should not just be moved to other sector but should be sacked and prosecuted since he has breached the Justice Dzamefe report which was set up to investigate what transpired in Black Stars camp after the 2014 World Cup in Brazil.

According to the former deputy Sports Minister, the Justice Dzamefe report states that, do not use tax payers money to send supporters to any activities which involves the Black Stars meaning Government should not fund for that thus sending supporters to support the Black Stars in any international event. We are yet to find out if the supporters that were sent to Egypt to support the Black Stars just recently in the ongoing AFCON were funded by the Government. If it appears to be true then Hon. Isaac Asiamah deserves to be prosecuted since he has breach the Justice Dzamefe report.

Joseph Yamin again shifted his attention to the Normalisation Committee and has edged President Nana Akuffo Addo to dissolve them as soon as possible since he believes they have not done anything since their appointment by FIFA.

The Normalisation Committee have been in office for more than a year and have been handed another extension by FIFA. One might say they have organised a football competition for both men and women football but the other can also say it was not part of the core duties assigned to them by FIFA.

With this, the former deputy Sports Minister, Joseph Yamin after Ghana’s painful exit last Monday in the Nations Cup has spoken on various media platforms lambasting the current Sports Minister. He is calling for the sack and prosecution of Hon. Isaac Asiamah this time around.
