Former Black Stars captain Asamoah scored on his debut last night for Indian giant NorthEast United in their 1-1 stalemate with the Indian national football team at the Indira Ghandi Athletic Stadium in Sarusajai.
The Blue Tigers broke the deadlock of the game on the 34th minutes through skipper Sunil Chetri.
The Highlanders responded few minutes after going down through newly signed Ghanaian international Asamoah Gyan just on the stroke of half time.
The second produced some great moments including a disallowed goal on the 70th minute with both teams making series of substitutions since it was a preparatory game. Asamoah was taken off on the 68th minute.
Both North East United and the Indian national team engaged themselves in this game to gear themselves very well for the upcoming Indian Super league and the World Cup qualifiers respectively.
Asamoah Gyan has already indicated after joining the Highlanders that, he wants to make a big statement in the ISL just like he did in the Arabian Gulf league in UAE.
