Ghanaian winger, Solomon Asante made history last night in his side Phoenix Rising end of season awards which is honoured annually to accolade their players for superb performance in the previous season.
After a phenomenal spell in the USL Championship this year, the former Berekum Chelsea player swept four awards last night. He was named as the most valuable player, Players player of the season, Top scorer and the Goal of the season.
He is the first player in the club’s history to win four awards in the Soccer Ball awards. He scored 22 goals and provided 16 assists in 30 appearances for his club, he also doubles as their captain.
With some few games to end the season, Solomon Asante’s involvement in 38 goals in the league is likely to land him more accolades in the league’s end of season awards as he is currently the league’s top scorer.
After winning the USL Championship with his Phoenix Rising FC and expecting to do more than that in Playoffs, clubs in the Major league Soccer have started competing for his signature.
