Black Stars skipper Andre Ayew scored the opener in Swansea City’s 2-2 drawn game against Sheffield Wednesday yesterday at Hillsborough as the Championship enters into match week 16.
This marked Ayew’s fourth goal in the Championship including two in the league cup making it six goals in all competitions so far for the Ghanaian.
Swansea City scored first after 32 minutes of play kind courtesy Andre Ayew who capitalised on a loose from a corner kick to put the Swans ahead. They held on to their result until the half time ended.
In the second 45 minutes, the home team tried anything they could to get the leveler but looks like it wasn’t coming until Fernando Martin Forestieri restored parity for them on the 81st minute. Sheffield scored again through Morgan Fox in the dying embers to have the lead for the first time in the game.
Just when everybody thought the home team were running out with all the three points, Ben Wilmot grabbed a late equaliser to earn a point for the Swans. Swansea City are now 4th on the Championship log with 29 points.
As we head into the international break, Andre Ayew as the captain of the Black Stars will now focus on the upcoming 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe.
