For quick and early acclimatisation, the Bafana Bafana of South Africa have landed in the country two days to the actual game day. Initially, the tean were to leave Johannesburg today but shifted to last night in order to avoid ill preparation and get poised for the game.
The Bafana Bafanas completed an eight hour journey before landing here. They spent six hours since setting off from the O.R Tambo Airport until they landed at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra. They didn’t just end it from there, they had to complete a two-hour bus journey from Accra to Cape Coast where the game is going to be held.
The Black Stars will be battling it out with South Africa in the 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers. Game comes off on Thursday, November 8 at the Cape Coast Stadium.
The South Africans headed by Coach Molefi Ntseki arrived in Ghana with 25 players and some other technical team members. Mamelodi Sundowns Forward Themba Zwani couldn’t make the trip due to injury same as Orlando Pirate’s Thembinkosi Lorch.
Meanwhile, Players which include Percy Tau, Kermit Erasmus, Dean Furman, Bongani Zungu, Lebo Mothiba, skipper Thulani Hlatshwayo all flew with the team to Ghana and are prepared and poised for action on Thursday.
The 1996 African champions will journey back to their country on Friday to prepare for their second qualifying game against Sudan on Sunday, November 17.
