Ashanti Gold S.C marksman, Shafiu Mumuni has exhibited his dedication on given out his best if given the starting place tomorrow.
An impressive performance for Ashanti Gold this year earned Shafiu Mumuni his debut Black Stars call up ahead of the upcoming 2021 Total Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against South Africa and Sao Tome and Principe.
Undoubtedly, Shafiu is the most in form player in our league currently no wonder he has stated he’s going to give out his possible best if given the nod to pair Jordan Ayew upfront come tomorrow against South Africa in Cape Coast.
One might say Shafiu Mumuni will need time before he can be handed a starting place in the senior national team but if you throwback and look at his performance in the just ended CAF Confederations Cup and the WAF Championship, one might also tend to change your mindset.
The Ashanti Gold skipper completed one of the fastest hatrick against Equatorial Guinean side Akonangui FC in the preliminary round of the Confederations Cup, he did that within ten minutes. He again became the first player to bag hatrick in the WAFU Championship.
With all these, one will agree the 24 year old has really proven at club level and given him the chance at the senior level won’t be a bad decision for Coach Kwesi Appiah come tomorrow.
The Black Stars held their first training in Cape Coast last night and will also be warming themselves up today ahead of the big game tomorrow.
The kickoff time for the game is 1900GMT/ 7:00pm.
