Sao Tome and Principe will host the Black Stars of Ghana early this afternoon at the Estadio Nacional 12 de Julho for the second group games of the ongoing 2021 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
The Falcons look very determined to surprise the Black Stars in front of the over 6, 000 spectators that will troop to the stadium this afternoon to observe the game.
Coach Gustave Clement Nyoumba and his charges lost 4-0 in their first qualifying game to Sudan last Wednesday in Omdurman. They will want to use the Black Stars to send signals to the other African countries and exhibit their eagerness to qualify for the next Nation’s Cup.
On the other hand, the Black Stars landed in Sao Tome yesterday with 23 players and some other technical team members. The team held their first training at the match venue and will be returning back to Accra immediately the game ends.
Goals from Atletico Madrid man Thomas Partey and Danish base Kudus Mohammed ensured 2-0 victory for the Black Stars against Bafana Bafana of South Africa last Thursday in Cape Coast.
With no injuries in camp, most Ghanaians will want Coach Akwesi Appiah to rest most of his key players for this game since they believe the Falcons won’t be a torn in a flesh for them. Fataw Mohammed, Felix Annan, Torric Jebrin etc are all expected to start this afternoon.
