How Ghanaian Players fared in the CAF club competitions over the weekend.

The 2019/20 CAF Champions League and the Confederations Cup commenced over the weekend with some mouthwatering encounters. Eblaradio is at hand to bring you the performance of Ghanaian players in the competition after match day one.

CAF Champions League:

*Raja Club Athletico 0-2 Esperance:

Defending champions Esperance started their defence on a high note after recording an emphatic win over Raja Casablanca last Saturday at the fortress, Mohammed V stadium. Former Asante Kotoko midfielder, Kwame Bonsu lasted the entire duration of the game for the Tunisian giant.

*Mamelodi Sundowns 3-0 Petro Atletico:

At the Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium, Mamelodi Sundowns thumped their Angolan counterparts by 3-0 in the opening fixture of Group C. Former Hearts of Oak duo Inusah Musah and Isaac Mensah played full ninety minutes of the game for the Angolans.

*T.P Mazembe 3-0 Zamalek S.C:

Goals from Jackson Muleka and Tresor Mputu Mabi propelled the Congolese giants to a resounding victory over Zamalek in a herculean clash over the weekend. Former Hearts of Oak winger, Torric Jebrin was an unused substitute.

*J.S Kabylie 1-0 A.S Vita Club:

Former Aduana Stars winger, Zakaria Mumuni was not included in the match day squad of the Congolese outfit in their narrow defeat in Algeria last Saturday

*Primeiro de Agosto 1-1 Zesco United:

Rahim Ousmanu was not part of the squad as the Zambian champions travelled to pick a point in Angola.

CAF Confederations Cup:

*Enugu Rangers 1-3 Pyramids FC:

The fastest emerging Egyptian side run out with all three points at the Nnamdi Azikiwe stadium earlier today. Ghanaian John Antwi was in action for the Egyptians whiles goalkeeper Nana Bonsu also warmed the bench for Enugu Rangers. Mr. Mark Addo was also appointed as the match coordinator for the game.

*D.C Motema Pembe 1-1 Zanaco:

The Bankers picked a vital point away from home after holding D.C Motema Pembe to a score drawn game at the Stade de Martyrs in Kinshasa. Ghanaian Kevin Owusu was at the bench for the Zambians.

*FC San Pedro 0-0 Paradou A.C:

The Ivorians were held at their own backyard in their first ever appearance in any of the CAF club competitions. Gariba Mohammed lasted the entire duration of the game.

*Bidvest Wits 0-0 Horoya A.C:

The Guinean giants put in extra effort to split the points in South Africa. Three Ghanaians started for Horoya as Godfred Asante enjoyed full throttle. Enock Atta Adjei and Sebe Baffour were all substituted on the 60th and 78th minutes respectively. Meanwhile, Hudu Yakubu was left at the bench and Ocansey Mandela was also not in the match day squad.

*Hassania Agadir 2-0 Enyimba FC:

Former Elmina Sharks duo Farouk Mohammed played the entire duration whiles Emmanuel Ampiah was left at the bench as Enyimba recorded a defeat in Morocco. Daniel Darkwa wasn’t in the squad.
