Ghanaian international defender, Rashid Sumaila was sensational last night for his side Al Qadsia after narrowly edging arc rivals Al Kuwait FC by 1-0 to win the Kuwaiti Super Cup.
The former Asante Kotoko centre-back exhibited a super performance for the Royals yesterday blocking and preventing all the dangerous balls in their area. His stellar performance earned him the Man of the match award after lasting the entire duration of the game.
Al Qadsia were really held and exposed to a highly defensive play after the first half ended score less. An explosive return from the break finally yielded something on the 72nd minute as Nigerian James Okwaso’s goal was enough to land the Royals the trophy.
Following that super performance, Rashid Sumaila took to social media to expressed gratitude to the most High and the Al Qadsia fans. He wrote;
“Alhamdulillah for the great victory today in the final of the KUWAITI SUPER CUP, well done.
Team Qadsia, this cup is for you all the fans. Hala Qadsia, we are the champions.”
The Black Stars defender really impressed in yesterday’s encounter. He has been very solid and is now fans favourite since returning from his loan spell in Serbia at FK Crevna Zvezda.
