Performance of some Ghanaian players in Europe over the weekend

*England

-Burnley 1-0 Newcastle United:

Newcastle United were pipped over the weekend by Burnley at the fortress, Turf Moore in match week 17 of the premier league. Ghanaian Christian Atsu was substituted on the 8th minute for Japanese Yoshinori Muto.

-Swansea City 3-1 Middlesbrough:

Andre Ayew was the hero last Saturday at the Liberty Stadium after netting a brace in Swansea City’s 3-1 victory against Middlesbrough. The win ended their six game winless run in the Championship this season.

*Spain

-Athletico Madrid 2-0 Osasuna:

The Rojiblancos were 2-0 winners over Osasuna last Saturday as Thomas Partey enjoyed all minutes at the Estadio Wanda Metropolitano.

-Celta Vigo 2-2 Real Mallorca:

Celta Vigo were held yesterday to a 2-2 drawn game at the Municipal de Balaidos by Real Mallorca. Ghanaian youngster, Idrissu Baba played full ninety minutes of the game.

-Getafe 2-0 Real Valladolid:

Not what Mohammed Salisu and his teammates expected after been pipped 2-0 over the weekend at the Coliseum Alfonso Perez by Getafe. Salisu enjoyed the entire minutes of the game.

*Germany

-SC Paderborn O7 1-1 FC Union Berlin:

Ghanaian winger, Christopher Antwi-Adjei played the entire duration of the game as his side Paderborn were held to a score drawn game in the Bundesliga over weekend.

*France

-FC Metz 1-1 Marseille:

Black Stars centre-back, John Boye provided another solid shield in the heart of defence for Metz together with Zambian Stophila Sunzu as they held Marseille to 1-1 drawn game last Saturday

-Sochaux 1-1 Grenoble:

In the French Ligue 2, goalkeeper Lawrence Ati Zigi kept the post for his team Sochaux for the full ninety minutes after been held to a score drawn game at their own grounds over the weekend.

-Zulte Waregem 5-1 St Truiden:

On loan Red Bull Salzburg left back, Gideon Mensah lasted the entire duration of the game as his Zulte Waregem humiliated their opponents last Saturday at the Regenboog Stadion.

-Genk 4-1 Waasland-Beveren:

Former Tema Youth winger, Joseph Paintsil was part of this crucial victory Genk picked over the weekend but was taken off on the 68th minute for Ianis Hagi to come on.

*Serbia

-FK Crvena Zvezda 3-1 Cukaricki:

The Red and Whites continued with their dominance in the Serbia Super Liga after humbling Cukaricki by 3-1. Richmond Boakye Yiadom lasted 80 mimutes on the pitch

-Hartberg 2-2 Red Bull Salzburg:

Former WAFA boy, Majeed Ashimeru was red carded as early as 16 minutes from kickoff as the Academy boys got held to a 2-2 draw at the Profertile Arena over the weekend.

-LASK 3-3 Sturm Graz:

Samuel Tetteh played full ninety minutes in LASK’s 3-3 drawn game yesterday in the Austrian Bundesliga.

Former Right to Dream Academy boy Kudus Mohammed played 89 minutes and provided an assist in their emphatic win over the weekend. Teammates Christopher Antwi was very solid at left back whiles Sadiq Ibrahim and Isaac Atanga all featured in the game.

Randers FC 3-0 Esbjerg FB:

On loan Anderlecht striker, Dauda Mohammed lasted the entire duration of the game as they were thumped by 3-0 in the Danish premier league

*Albania

-FK Partizani 1-2 KF Tirana:

Former Hearts of Oak playmaker, Wilful Cobbinah was the hero last Friday after scoring a last minute winner to grind all three points for Tirana away from home. He was shown a second yellow after pulling off his shirt whiles celebrating his goal.
