Goalkeeper and captain of Asante Kotoko S.C, Felix Annan has this afternoon signed a new contract extension with the club which keeps him at the Baba Yara Stadium until 2022. This is the news the Kotoko faithfuls have been waiting to hear since it was rumoured Annan was on his way out of the club weeks ago.
Felix Annan joined Asante Kotoko in 2011 from WAFA where he remained to spend another one year loan. Since then, he has tried any means possible to get his way into the Kotoko set up and has now risen to become the team’s captain.
Felix Annan after extending his contract at the club’s Secretariat today stated;
“I am delighted to have signed an extension to my contract with the club. My heart belongs here and so it was not a difficult decision choosing to extend my stay.
I am the captain of the club and so has a mission which I have not accomplished. I neither wished to leave the club nor made any exorbitant demands. I am happy here wants to remain here to accomplish the mission that I have set for myself.”
The young shot stopper has been sensational since joining the Porcupine Warriors. Despite facing a tougher competition from the likes of Eric Ofori Antwi, Ernest Sowah etc, he still commanded the first choice spot in the post.
Felix Annan has won three Premier League titles including two FA Cups and three Presidential Cups of which he played an instrumental role in achieving those glories.
Felix Annan will be leading the team as they enter Accra this Friday to take on Legon Cities FC in their match week two fixture of the 2019/20 Ghana Premier League season.
