The Ghana Premier League match week six will continue this afternoon at the Golden City Park as league leaders Berekum Chelsea will be coming up against Aduana Stars.
This heavyweight is dubbed the top of the table clash as both teams lie first and second of the league standing with 13 and 12 points respectively. With only two points separating them, it means a win for any of the teams can cause a change as to who goes top of the table after this week.
Berekum Chelsea still remains the only unbeaten team so far in the league having won four and drew one in their first five games. The Blues have done something uncharacteristic of Ghana football in recent years beating both Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko at their own grounds. Just recently they also humbled the Miners in Obuasi to maintain their winning run.
On the other hand, Aduana Stars have also been sensational so far in the season despite having their unbeaten run shut down by Eleven Wonders on week four. The Ogya boys have four wins and a defeat after five games this campaign.
Berekum Chelsea have not been scoring many goals as they have registered four goals after five games. In as much as there hasn’t been the highest scoring team, they have the best defensive record so far since they are yet to concede a goal in the league this season.
Meanwhile, Aduana Stars are really scoring in the league notably that 4-0 thrashing they handed Inter Allies in the season opener. They have difference of 6 goals after five games having scored 8 and conceded two.
Which of the strikers steal the show this afternoon in Berekum? Yahya Mohammed leads the goalking chat with six goals whiles Kofi Owusu has also proven he is a big game player scoring against both Kotoko and Ashgold in Kumasi and Obuasi respectively. Of these two players, the one to carry the day is likely to claim all three points for his side at the end.
