GHPL matchweek 8 results; Kotoko held in Sogakope, Aduana pipped in Cape Coast, a seven goal thriller in Kumasi and many more.

*WAFA 0-0 Asante Kotoko SC

Stubborn WAFA held the Porcupine Warriors to a goalless drawn game at the Red Bull Arena today in match week eight of the Ghana Premier league. Kotoko dominated the game and created series of chances but failed to utilise any as they remain unbeaten in their last two visit to Sogakope.

*King Faisel 3-4 Great Olympics

It was an entertaining seven goal thriller at the Baba Yara Stadium as King Faisel got humbled by Great Olympics. Surprisingly six goals were recorded in the second department of the game.

Emmanuel Clottey’s brace puts the Ole boys on a two goal lead only for an on loan Kotoko player Osman Ibrahim to hit double in the second half to bring King Faisel back on level terms. On the 74th minute, Abdul Razak handed Olympics the lead once again to make it 2-3. Baba Yahya equalised on the 78th minute to make it 3-3, just a minute after, inform Gladson Awako got the winning goal to make it 3-4 as Olympics run out with all three points at the end.

*Medeama SC 1-0 Bechem United

Medeama SC were handed one of their toughest game as far as this season is concern as they nearly got held to a drawn game by the Hunters. Midfield dynamo Kwesi Donsu’s last minute strike commanded all three points for the Mauves and Yellows after full time. The goal has really sparked a lot of controversies at the Akoon Park as the technical team of Bechem United believed that goal shouldn’t have stood.

*Ebusua Dwarfs 3-1 Aduana Stars

The Crabs recorded their second victory of the season after thumping league leaders Aduana Stars by an emphatic 3-1 at the Cape Coast stadium despite missing a penalty. Goals scored by Michael Asamoah, Seidu Abubakari and Isaac Donkor. Captain Yahya Mohammed got the consolation for the “Ogya” lads as he increase his tally on the top scoring chat to eight goals.

*Berekum Chelsea 1-0 Karela United

Second half goal from centre-back Zakaria Fusseini brought the Blues back on winning ways as they humbled Karela United narrowly at the Golden City Park. Berekum Chelsea have now leapfrogged Aduana Stars to claim back the top spot which has been their favourite position this season.

*Liberty Professionals 1-2 Dreams FC

After earning a draw last Sunday in Kumasi, Liberty Professionals couldn’t further on with their fine form as they got pipped 1-2 at their own grounds by Dreams FC. Goals scored by Issah Ibrahim and Dantani Ampadu, Elvis Kyei Baffour with the consolation for the Scientific Soccer lads.

*Eleven Wonders 0-3 Inter Allies

The Capelli boys exhibited a scintillating performance as they humiliated Eleven Wonders by a resounding 0-3 victory at the Nana Ameyaw Park. Nigerien winger Victorien Adebayor continued with his fine form as his brace coupled with  Mohammed Zakari’s goal propelled them to claim all the three points.

*Legon Cities FC 1-0 Elmina Sharks

Elsewhere, at the Ohene Gyan Stadium, the Royals recorded their second win of the campaign following a narrow triumph over Elmina Sharks kind courtesy a late penalty kick converted by Abdul Karim Jabila, his second goal of the season.
