The Ghana Football Association (GFA) has approved the the Independence day Cup game between two Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko in London.
This game is a special game to commemorate Ghana’s 63rd Independence Anniversary.
In a meeting with HRH Sports Consultancy Limited yesterday, the organisers of the game, the GFA after considering everything have sanctioned the annual independence day cup to be honoured in the United Kingdom this time around.
Despite receiving the go ahead and from the Sports Ministry to approve that game, the GFA also considered the letters written to them by the two clubs stating they will be leaving the country on 4th March 2020.
The game itself will be played on 7th March 2020 with both teams returning just a day after to proceed with the rest of their games in the ongoing Ghana Premier league campaign.
The meeting yesterday was represented by the Youth and Sports Minister, Hon. Isaac Asiamah, the Ghana Football Association President, Mr. Kurt Okraku, Mr. Frank Quist who happens to be the Chief Director of the Ministry and the GFA General Secretary Mr. Prosper Harrison Addo. Also, the organisers in Nana Yaw Amponsah who’s the bank roller of division one side Rangers and Justin Addo were also present at the gathering.
