The much awaited Independence Cup clash between the two Ghanaian giants Hearts of Oak and Asante Kotoko which is supposed to be honoured in London has been rescheduled to 11th April 2020.
Initially, the game was to be played on the 7th March but has been shifted due to some one or two reasons according to HRH Sports Consult and ProBall International, the organisers of this biggest game.
Reports circulating in the local media stated initially that, the game suffered a shift due to visa issues of most of the fans of the two clubs. But according to a release on the GFA website, the game was postponed mainly because of a torrential rainfall in UK which has affected the pitch of the Barnet Stadium.
A statement on the GFA website reads:
”Torrential downpour in the last few days have affected the Barnet pitch, necessitating the postponement of the matches of the National League club, Barnet, and this has affected the scheduled Hearts-Kotoko match at the same venue.”
