Aduana Stars midfielder Elvis Opoku has confirmed his eagerness to join the newly branded Legon Cities FC before the second phase of the season commences. He disclosed this in an interview with Kumasi base OTEC FM.
Legon Cities FC affectionately dubbed as the Royals are in a serious preparations for the second round of the 2019/20 season despite the league being halted until further notice due to the coronavirus epidemic.
Reports circulated in the local media yesterday stating that, the club has released 20 players which sounded really strange but the story was later quashed out by the club’s Spokesperson Kwame Dwomoh Agyemang
Elvis Opoku has being with the “Ogya” lads for almost six years now and has been very instrumental and fans favourite at the Osagyefo Nana Agyemang Badu II Stadium.
He was an integral member of the late Coach Yussif Abubakar side that clinched the league title in the 2016/17 season, which marked Aduana’s second league success in their history. However, the 26 year old midfielder has confirmed he’s been told by the club’s management that he’s on the wanted list of Legon Cities FC. He said;
“I still have a contract with Aduana Stars, but I have no problem if they are ready to release me to any club.
“I have been told by Aduana Stars management of a possible move to Legon Cities FC, and am ready to join them if they agree to my terms.
“Currently am doing my background checks if the team is good for me or not, because as a player you need to do some checks before moving to a team”, he concluded.
