Ghana football legend Nii Odartey Lamptey has urged Thomas Partey to ignore all offers in the summer and stay with Atletico Madrid, he disclosed this in an interview with Ahomka FM in Elmina.
The diminutive midfielder has been sensational for the Rojiblancos throughout the season playing an instrumental role in their course to send European champions Liverpool packing out of the UEFA Champions league which has been halted by the novel coronavirus pandemic.
His stellar output in recent times in the Spanish Laliga has earned him lots of offers to select from in the summer. Not only is he strongly linked to Arsenal, clubs like Manchester United, Inter Milan, Bayern Munich etc have exhibited their readiness to acquire the signature of the Ghanaian.
With all these offers coming on board, Nii Odartey Lamptey has urged the Ghanaian to consider the offers very well before he takes any decision since it can make or unmake him reflecting back to what happened to his career when he joined Aston Villa in 1995.
Again, the Glow-lamp Soccer Academy founder has also disclosed he believes the style of play in the LaLiga suits Thomas Partey better than that of the Premier league, Bundesliga, Serie A etc and has also being the fans favourite at the Wanda Metropolitano in recent years. He told Ahomka FM;
“Offers are coming in for Partey but I’m telling you today, if he doesn’t make the right decision and choose the right club and country, he will go off.
“Decision making can spoil your career as a footballer because it happened to me during my playing days. it was wrong for me to choose Aston Villa over the French team that came calling so I will use my story to advise him to stay in Spain.
“His playing style does not fit that of England and Spain. He can decide to leave Atletico and join other Spanish clubs but not either England or Italy.
“I know he has to consider the financial package involved in any deal but if he wants his career to keep flourishing, then he should not make a move away from Spain because he can equally make money at Atletico,” he concluded.”
